Frequently Asked Questions
You've Asked, We've Answered
Is this for real?
Absolutely! Many people do not like the task of picking up the waste their dog leaves behind. So, we are more than happy to provide our services to take care of the dirty work.
Is picking up dog poop really that important?
Yes it is! Picking up after your dog's waste is important for your health and the health of your pet. Dog waste is an environmental pollutant. Decaying pet waste consumes oxygen and sometimes releases ammonia. Low oxygen levels and ammonia can damage the health of fish and other aquatic life. Additionally, pet waste carries bacteria, viruses and parasites that can threaten the health of humans and wildlife. Dog waste is full of E. coli, salmonella and is a common carrier of the following: Worms (several types), Parvovirus, Coronavirus, Giardiasis, Salmonellosis, Cryptosporidiosis, and Campybacteriosis.  These bacteria and parasites can actually linger in the soil for years.  If you don’t pick up after your dog, you are putting other people and other dogs at risk of getting sick. Since storm drains do not always connect to treatment facilities, untreated animal feces often ends up in rivers and streams, causing significant water pollution.
What if I am not satisfied with Chesapeake Pooper Scoopers, LLC?
If for any reason you’re not satisfied with the services provided by Chesapeake Pooper Scoopers, LLC we want to hear about it! We will make every effort to make it right. It is important to us that you’re completely satisfied with our services. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
It’s just poop, won't it act as a fertilizer?
A common misconception, or excuse people use, is that poop is natural fertilizer.  However, this is not really true.  Not all piles of poop are created equal.  If that were the case, we probably would have to invest so much in sewage treatment of our own waste.  Cow manure is has a very different make up from dog waste because their digestive systems, and diets are very different.  Cows are herbivores, where as a dog’s are omnivores, and their diets are very high in protein.  Dog waste is actually so high in nitrogen and phosphorus that it can have the opposite effect of fertilizer.  It can actually burn your lawn if you don’t pick it up.  As stated above, it also causes all sorts of issues for local watersheds.
What forms of payments do you accept?
We accept all forms of payment. Cash, all major credit cards, and checks.
Can my dogs be in the yard when you're cleaning?
As long as your dogs are not aggressive, they are more than welcome to be in the yard when we are cleaning up their waste.
Are you a seasonal business? Will my yard still be cleaned if there is bad weather?
No we're not seasonal. We provide our services all year long, rain or shine. With that being said, in the event of hazardous weather conditions, we will cancel services for that day and reschedule for when weather permits.
Do I need to sign a contract?
No, we do not require customers to sign a service contract. We do however require at least 24 hour notice prior to canceling a scheduled service appointment.
